The monsoon is the toughest season for your car. Damp air, puddles and constant wetness find every gap — and come out as foggy windows, soggy mats and that unmistakable musty smell. Five simple accessories solve almost all of it.
1. All-weather floor mats (or 7D mats)
Your factory carpet soaks up water and takes days to dry — which is exactly how mould starts. Raised-edge 7D floor mats trap water, mud and slush on the surface. Pull them out, pour the water off, hose them down, done.
2. A proper car cover
If your car parks in the open, rain leaves behind water spots and tree sap that slowly eats your clear coat. A water-resistant body cover keeps the paint dry and clean — just make sure you buy one with a soft inner lining so it doesn’t scratch.
3. Anti-fog essentials + microfibre cloths
Foggy windscreens aren’t just annoying — they’re dangerous. A clean microfibre cloth plus a simple anti-fog treatment on the inside of the glass makes a bigger difference than you’d expect. Keep a cloth in the door pocket at all times.
4. Car shampoo & a wash mitt
Wash the car often during monsoon — mud that sits for weeks binds to the paint. A pH-neutral car shampoo with a soft mitt lifts dirt without swirling your paint. Avoid dish soap; it strips the wax coat.
5. Tyre & rubber care
Wet roads make tyre condition a safety question. Keep tyre pressure checked weekly (it drops in the cold rain), and keep an eye on wiper blades — streaking wipers are a monsoon accident waiting to happen.

- Wipe door seals with a dry cloth — this is where rust and mould begin.
- Run the AC on defrost for a few minutes weekly to keep the cabin dry.
